The monochord is an ancient musical instrument similar to a zither attested to as far back as ancient Sumeria, said to have been reinvented by Pythagoras for the study of frequencies and musical intervals in around 500 BC. As the name implies, only one string is needed to do experiments, but several strings have been commonly used since ancient times so that various intervals can be compared to each other.

Made with quality Baltic birch for the soundboard and back, hard maple panels for stable tuning, and American alder for the sides and frame, Solstice Monochords are made to be tuned to your centered resonance. This Minichord has 12 strings and a higher voicing than the standard 16 stringed Monochord. You can tune it to B, C, or C#. Solstice Sound Healing recommends that you tune this instrument in accordance with the Pythagorean A = 432 Hz system.
