Our 8" Makalu Singing Bowl is named for the Hindu God Shiva. The name translates to "Big Black" and refers to one of the Himalayan Mountains. This mountain is also known as Kumba Karna in the local dialect, which means "The Giant". The bowl itself has a clear sound, rich with higher-pitched vibrations and a long sustain. They're easy to sing and have a distinct tone, so we love them!
