This listing includes a Paiste Orchestra Gong, stand, a Paiste Floor "C" Gong Stand and a Paiste M1 Mallet.
Paiste Symphonic Gongs are works of sonic mastery. Their flat, scraped surface meets a dark rim that flows back from the face creating a unique shape. They are hand-hammered from nickel silver in the European gong-making tradition. They are not tuned but tend to fall within a certain range at a given size.
Shiny and expressive in a slightly different manner than traditional Paiste Symphonic Gongs. The Symphonic Brilliant Gongs are identical in construction to the Symphonic Gongs but are laboriously hand polished to achieve their distinctive mirror-like look.
The sound of the Brilliant models differs slightly from the regular Symphonic Gongs. They build up their overtone structure slightly more rapidly, and sometimes you feel the mid-range become a wash a little faster.
Note: The video below may contain a gong with or without the Paiste logo or Tai Loi symbols as an example of the Symphonic gong at this size.
The lightweight metal, the unique shape, and the scraped face all combine to create an overall sound that is very clean and meditative, with rich, beautiful harmonics that expand over the deep fundamental tone.
"Symphonic" doesn't refer strictly to the orchestral use of the word "symphony," but goes to the root of the word, to the unity of harmonic sounds and the experience of sound in its entirety. These gongs create a symphony of sounds for the listener. They are perfect for musicians, Kundalini yoga practitioners, sound healers, and therapists working with music and tone.
The Paiste Floor "C" Gong Stand is made from forged iron, it is nice and heavy. It ain't no hollow steel tubing. The metal is twisted into an aesthetic design. Because it is iron, its feet can be shorter in depth while still providing the same support as the other, larger stands.
This is the gong stand preferred by many yoga teachers! You can sit and play the gong while easing your students into meditative calm.
