This listing includes a traditional Chinese gong mallet.

Bao Gongs, with their raised bump in the middle, known as a bell or nipple, is the Chinese version of other Southeast Asian gongs, those from Thailand, Vietnam and Java. The nipple, when struck, helps create a clear-tone. While Bao Gongs are not tuned, their notes are more obvious than flat Chinese gongs.

The 7” Mother Bao Gong is an unlathed nipple gong. The nipple focuses the tone, the baked skin holds the tone and what comes out is sound: Pure, true and good for you just like the life-nurturing milk that comes from a mother's nipples.

A nipple can read a baby's saliva and when a baby is sick, it tells the breast to create super-milk high in leukocytes that helps the baby heal.

Squirt it into an eye and you can see clearer.

Squirt it into an ear and you can hear better.

Nipples are awesome.

This Mother Bao gong lactates good vibrations, so don't be afraid to suckle at the teat of sound. This gong knows what you need.

The 7” Golden Bao Gong. What is this bit of bronze? Bowl? Hat? A lost bit from one of Madonna's costumes?

Once upon a time that is exactly what Snow Beast wondered. So it eagerly picked up the Bao gong, broke a small branch from a nearby tree and gave the 7" Bao Gong a tap.

A crystal clear bell-like tone issued from the Bao gong and just as legend had predicted, the Beast was soothed. In fact, the musicality of the tone transformed it from a Snow Beast into a beautiful Snow Queen. Mee-ow!

She took the 7" Bao Gong and returned to her icy palace where she and the Bao gong lived in harmony forevermore.

The 8” Golden Bao Gong is so cute they name Pandas after them! The sweet solid tone will cheer on the Bao Bao in your life! It can also comfort your Bao Bao when it gets a boo boo. It doesn't get any cuter than this.

The 9” Golden Bao Gong, an inch bigger and just as cute as its small Bao Gong siblings. Sometimes, nine inches of a clear, focused golden tone is all you need.

No, this gong is not gold, it is bronze. But its shine will make you feel golden like the Golden Ratio, all perfectly balanced and in tune with nature.

Nurture your nature with the 9” Golden Bao Gong.

The 12” Bao Gong ranks high on several relevant compatibility tests. It's a great listener, even when you're not holding it right next to your face, always paying attention to you with its large, rounded nipple in the center.

It’s clear tone breaks through any bull-doody with strong encouragement of, “Yes, you can!” or “Oh no, you don’t!”

You never have to clean up after it, or feed it. Just give it a few taps with a mallet every once in a while and satisfaction is assured for both parties.

It is also pleasing to the eye. It's distinctive lathing and shape give it a soothing overall look. Dare we say, even sexy?

The 14” Bao Gong, when played with the mallet, produces a clear, deep bell tone that falls gently on your ears like a feather dropping onto a gentle river. These sounds can be pulled from the gong repeatedly and consistently. The 14” Bao gong is tried and true.

The 16” Bao Gong is designed to withstand. It is slightly thicker and has a more prominent rim that other gongs of its size. It is sturdy, stolid and strong.

This also means this gong weighs a bit more than gongs with a comparable circumference. But, we have a saying in the gong business, "It ain't heavy, it's my 16” Bao Gong." A gong with a tone that’s long and strong.

The 18" Bao Gong opens up alternate ways of seeing things and allows you to grow in understanding. Especially to understanding what it feels like to walk around with an 18" Bao gong nestled in your arm (or hanging on a gong stand somewhere in your home or business).

We have another saying the gong game, "That's nothing to shake a stick at, it's a gong to be hit with a mallet."

We say that a lot, sometimes getting it wrong, by identifying other circular things, like used pie tins, chubby babies' faces, and the moon, as gongs.

Although we're not opposed to you shaking a stick at it if that's what makes you happy. For what are mallets really, except fancy sticks? And what are gongs if not portals for happiness? So for your happiness' sake, take a Bao (bow)- (an 18" Bao specifically)-
